About the Director

thorntonAfter nearly 30 years serving as Concordia's Financial Aid director, Dale Thornton decided he needed a change to complete his educational career. In the fall of the 2004-05 academic year, Thornton's passion and vision for changing the lives of students evolved into the position of director of American Indian Outreach.

As director, Thornton strives to help give support and direction to students who have a high likelihood of dropping out of school. Emphasizing the importance of higher education while developing self esteem and work ethics, Thornton spends his time traveling to area schools and reservations speaking to students through formal presentation time and one-on-one advisement or counseling.
