Choral Ensemble Auditions

2011-2012 Choral Ensemble Audition Information

Concordia College is known both nationally and internationally for its excellence in choral music. Any student who would like to be part of a choral organization this year is encouraged to audition for one or more ensembles.

The Concordia Choir will be auditioned the fall. If you are a transfer student and wish to audition for the 2011-2012 Concordia Choir, please contact Dr. Clausen directly.

Vocal Jazz Ensemble auditions will occur at a date and time to be announced in Christiansen Recital Hall. Look for the posted signup sheet. Please prepare a 12-16 bar unaccompanied solo. You will also be asked to perform a short sight reading excerpt.

Scheduling a Chapel Choir, Bel Canto, Cantabile and Mannerchor Audition

All students are welcome to audition for a choral group regardless of previous singing experience. Auditions are brief (6 minutes) and easy to do.

What to do:

1. Come to Hvidsten Music Hall, Room 145, to get your audition form.

2. Sign up for an audition time on the time schedules posted outside of Room 145.

3. Bring your completed audition form with you when you come for your audition. (Please print information clearly.)

4. You do not have to prepare anything prior to your audition.

When:

Auditions will be held Monday, August 29 through Friday, September 2 from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.

Where:

Auditions will be held in Hvidsten, Room 145.
