Sustainability at Concordia College

Environmental sustainability is important at Concordia. That's why our students and faculty are leading efforts to reduce energy usage and food waste, grow and serve some of our own food, and offer greener forms of transportation for our campus community.

At Concordia, sustainability means becoming ecologically literate. It means doing what we can within our own footprint on the globe to protect and preserve Earth. It means creating a rain garden, going without trays in Dining Services, landscaping with native plants, and serving as a community example through our recycling program.

For more information on Concordia’s sustainability plans, read the Roadmap to Sustainability, recommendations by the University of Minnesota’s Center for Sustainable Building Research. Even better, contact members of the Sustainability Task Force or Student Environmental Alliance. They would be happy to show you how you can get involved in the college’s green efforts.
